CollageWall Puts Life on Display

Stylish photo walls are now easy to design, install, and update

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – September 21, 2010: CollageWall announces the launch of its web-based service for turning digital photos into stylish wall displays. The company, located online at collagewall.com, has been in beta and now marks its formal launch, offering an online space where people can make collages and “turn digital photos into living works of art.”

When a house fire and remodel left CollageWall founder Jeff Southard with a house full of empty walls, he wanted to add a personal, artistic touch to his home environment: "I had a hard-drive full of photos. So I thought, how about a photo wall? There was one snag though – I hate hanging pictures. And have you ever tried to hang a half-dozen pictures in a collage?”

Jeff combined his software and “real-world” design skills to create a patent-pending system that allows anyone to create a stunning collage from their digital photos. The CollageWall system is a welcome help in the age of digital photos - now accustomed to the ease of digital photography, many people find that pictures are just a nuisance. They’re expensive, difficult to hang, and often impossible to keep straight.

CollageWall eliminates the hassle with an easy-to-use system that produces beautiful results. Customers simply upload the photos they’d like to include in their displays, then drag-and-drop them into one of hundreds of CollageWall templates – or design their own. CollageWall then prints the selected photos and sends them with a paper template that makes installation a cinch; customers use push-in pegs that form a grid. Then pictures can to be added, removed, or rearranged in seconds, and the grid system ensures that they will always be perfectly aligned and level.

Sound expensive? It’s not – CollageWall displays start at $50. Photos are printed in high resolution for crisp, vivid detail, and the entire display costs less than stretched canvas alternatives. “Worth every cent!” raves Alicia McCabe, who made a CollageWall for her family. “The quality is fabulous. The attention to detail is refreshing: your order includes everything you need – including the tape to put the template on the wall. Installation is a breeze – not even so much as a grumble as we put this on the wall. We couldn't be happier with the process or the result.”

Family photo walls are just one of many ways CollageWall customers are using the system. Companies borrow photos and logos from their brochures for lobby displays; newlyweds make collages to celebrate their weddings; travel enthusiasts show off their latest adventures; others decorate with their photo projects and hobbies.

For people who are short on time, CollageWall offers a professional design service for only $25, in which one of their designers creates three different custom arrangements to choose from. Now there’s no longer any good reason why digital photos should stay trapped on a computer or hard disk – with CollageWall, they can take center stage in a home or office. By making it possible for people to display treasured photos in a sleek, modern collage, CollageWall makes it easy to show off the best moments in life.

About CollageWall

CollageWall was founded in 2008 by designer Jeff Southard as a solution for the cumbersome task of arranging and hanging photos in artful (and level) ways. Inspired by his own blank walls, Jeff developed a patent-pending system that turns digital photos into living works of art. CollageWall prints and mounts customers’ photos and provides an installation kit, complete with a paper template and push-in pegs for fast and fool-proof set-up. CollageWall’s online design tools let customers create their own photo collages – or, to save time, enlist the help of CollageWall’s designers. Once the CollageWall grid is in place, pictures can be rearranged and replaced within seconds – making it easy to keep current with changes in life.
